Friends of Deep Valley Libraries is a group of families, individuals, and businesses dedicated to supporting libraries in Blue Earth County and North Mankato. Friends of Deep Valley Libraries is a nonprofit organization.

What are some of the Friends projects?

• Quarterly book sales to raise money to fund library needs
  
• The Summer "Books are Forever Friends" Library Program

• Publicizing libraries
  
• Sponsoring special library events such as folk musicians, storytellers and puppeteers, as well as speakers, authors and illustrators
  
• Supplying family reading, learning and audio-visual materials
  
• Commissioning artwork from local artists such as Marian Anderson to enhance library décor
  
• Supporting Minnesota authors by donating their works to the library
  
• Funding the Best-seller Rental Program
  

Pages Past Bookstore

Pages Past, a used bookstore in the Blue Earth County Library, has been a fund raiser for Friends of Deep Valley Libraries since the store opened in August 1997. The bookstore, staffed by over 50 volunteers, is managed by Sarah Beiswanger and features the Betsy Tacy series by Mankato-based author Maud Hart Lovelace. Volunteers are always welcome! 2-4 hours per month is requested. You do not need to be a member of Friends to volunteer.

Hours: Monday: 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday: 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday: 9:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. Thursday: 9:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. Friday: 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. *Closed Sundays and holidays
