To obtain a Blue Earth County Library Card, you must be a resident of Blue Earth County and have proof of identity and residence when you apply for a library card. You can get an application at the library or on-line. If you are under 16 years old you will need the signature of a parent or legal guardian. Library cards are free at the time of application or to renew an expired card. There is a $1.00 fee for lost or stolen cards. If you should lose your library card, please notify the library immediately so we can block the card and no one can check material out with your card.
What happens if I return my materials late?
Blue Earth County Library does charge a late fee for all materials. If you are an adult, the fee is 25 cents per day (10 cents for children) on books, audiotapes, compact discs and magazines. There is a $1.00 per day late fee on Videos and DVDs. Print material, audiotapes and CDs can be checked out for up to 21 days and be renewed twice. Videos, DVDs and computer software can be checked out for up to a week and cannot be renewed.
