The focal point of the Library is the Fountain, a 25 foot circular area with a rock sculpture created from six boulders from Minneopa State Park. It was designed by Raymond Jacobson.

The kasota stone monument sculpted by Tom Miller is claimed to be the first memorial in Minnesota with all the names of the Minnesotans that lost their life in the Korean War. The statue sits on the southwest corner of the Library ground.

Reading Magic

The Reading Magic sculpture by Julie Jones, won the People's Choice Award in the first City Art Walking Sculpture Tour. The sculpture was purchased by the City Center Partnership and is on permanent display outside the south side of the building.

The First 150 Years

Maud's Deep Valley Mural

The mural painted by Marian Anderson depicts the scenes from Lovelace's ten Betsy-Tacy books. It was funded by a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board and was presented to the Library on March 9, 1980.
